Focusing on the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, and guardianship/conservatorship, Susie has experience covering a broad range of services, from the simple estate plan to the administration of complicated estate or trust matters. She also works closely with families to address issues of capacity and planning for disability or death.
Susie counsels clients in the areas of:
- Preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and related documents
- Tax-reduction strategies
- Probate administration and trust administration
- Guardianship and conservatorship
Susie spends a significant amount of time representing clients in the courtroom concerning probate and trust litigation matters, both uncontested and contested.
Susie is a frequent speaker on issues as diverse as capacity, incapacity, undue influence, health care directives, and guardianships and conservatorships. She has been a guest presenter for Minnesota CLE, Ramsey County Bar Association, Aging Services of Minnesota, and other groups.
In addition to speaking, Susie has contributed to several published works. Most recently, she assisted with updating and revising the Guardianship and Conservatorship Law Handbook published through Minnesota CLE, and she is working on revisions to the state’s guardianship and conservatorship statute.
