What does a contractor need to know before entering into the construction bidding process? (Aaron Dean discusses with "Reel Lawyers")
Transcript:
There are many things that a contractor should be aware of. What are the rules in that particular state or municipality for bidding? Is the project publicly owned or privately owned? What will be the form of the contract that they’re being asked to sign? Have they reviewed the terms of their bid? Do they have a boilerplate set of conditions that they want to include with their bid? If there happens to be a mistake in their bid, how do they get out of it? There’s many rules on that subject, and I’ve handled a lot of disputes, unfortunately, for both general contractors and subcontractors who have a problem with their bids and seek relief from the mistakes in their bids. So that’s – there’s a long answer to that very short question.
